Information for the teams about the transportation of dogs

Rules for movements of pets between EU Member States


The dog is to be identified by a clearly readable tatoo or an electronic microchip (transponder).

If the microchip is not suit to the 11784 IOS standard or to the „A” enclosure of the 11785 ISO standard the owner of the dog is liable for submitting a scanner in order to identify the dog.

All dogs must have a passport issued by a veterinarian authorised by the competent authority certifying valid antirabies vaccination, or revaccination if applicable, in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturing laboratory, carried out on the animal in question with an inactivated vaccine of at least one antigenic unit per dose (WHO standard).

All dogs have undergone a neutralising antibody titration at least equal to 0,5 IU/ml carried out on a sample taken by an authorised veterinarian at least 30 days after vaccination and three months before being moved.
The antibody titration need not be renewed on a pet animal which has been revaccinated at the intervals by WHO standard.
